Turning Your House into Classic Ship with Accessories

Classic sailing ship has unique look and décor, and you can bring some of its decorative elements into nautical home decorations. You do not need to turn all the rooms into the interior of a ship. However, you can just put some striking elements to give unique and interesting look like the inside of a classic, old timey ship.
Colors
For colors, you can paint the walls with beige, give dark brown lining and replace the floor with hardwood, to give illusion that you are inside a wooden ship cabin. You can also paint the windowsills with dark brown color to imitate wood. However, even without replacing the floor, repainting and adding some accessories will work quite well.
Accessories
As for the accessories, you can use these nautical home decorations (which you can buy with cheap prices):
Steering wheels, which are the signature elements of classic ships
You can decorate a room with several steering wheels with different sizes. Many of them are sold in custom colors such as white or blue, while others keep the more antique look with brown colors. They can be put on the wall, above the fireplace or on the door.
Oars, which are unique and very standout
You can put an old wooden oar that has been rubbed clean and polished on the wall, or put it against the corner of the wall.
Statues, like the ones you often see adorning the front part of a ship
This statue usually comes in the form of mermaid or dolphin, and it can become unique accessory in a room.
Turning some parts of your house into classic ship cabin is a great idea for nautical home decorations. It does not involve complicated decorating projects.
